Talk about needing to catch up! I have darn near two weeks of catch up to do. I am so sorry.

Thursday, December 16 - This would have been my sister's 64th birthday. Happy Birthday, Diane. Worked on my novel today. Talked to Kurt Jesse for about an hour. Didn't hear from David.

Friday, December 17 - Today was the day for the CT scan of my chest. It took all of half an hour, much shorter than I thought it would be. Posted an erotic poem on Literotica (not under my name - there I am Hyades). Talked to David for half an hour.

Saturday, December 18 - Did some laundry and worked on my novel. Talked to David for a little bit. He is so unhappy where he is. Things are not going well for him there, he's running into all kinds of programming snags.

Sunday, December 19 - Finished up my laundry and worked on my novel. It's been a pretty quiet day.

Monday, December 20 - Worked on my book and waited to hear from David. I didn't hear from him today. I hope all is well.

Tuesday, December 21 - Worked on my novel. Still haven't heard from David and he's not responding when I try to reach him. I'm beginning to worry about him.

Wednesday, December 22 - Wrapped presents. Did some laundry for Kent. Gathered the trash. Worked on my novel. Wondered if David fell off the face of the earth. I heard from another "friend". Took Window updates.

Thursday, December 23 - Worked on my novel. Talked to the other friend for 2 hours. Still no word from David.

Friday, December 24 - Posted another erotic poem on Literotica. We did a little Christmas...we opened one gift each. Made a new friend in Canada named Stan. Talked to Jonathan the other friend for 1 1/4 hours. Still no David. I miss him.

Saturday, December 25 - We had Christmas here. Had a good one. The we went to Roberta's for Christmas dinner with her and other friends. We were stuffed! Good food. That girl can cook! Talked to Stan for 1/2 hour. No word from David nor did he show up at the door like I half expected since he wanted to be home for the holidays.

Sunday, December 26 - Brian was here with us and we re-did Christmas. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch then went to see the newest Harry Potter movie. We had a very good time. Talked to Jonathan.

Monday, December 27 - Happy Birthday, Dawn! Can't believe how time flies. Hope you had a lovely day. Talked to Michelle for a while. Said "Hello" to Stan. Talked to Jonathan. Needless to say nothing from David. No calls, no chats, no emails even though I'd sent emails and tried to get a chat started. His cell is no longer working. I have no clue what's going on.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

I cannot believe how quickly time flies! As usual I'm behind again.

Thursday, December 9, 2010 - I made potato salad for supper tonight because we were having bratwurst and it didn't seem right to have one without the other. Baked a frozen mince pie. A favorite of Heather's. Talked to a dear friend for half an hour and spent 1 and 1/2 hours with my David on chat. Caught up my blog from last week. Worked on my website. Worked on my novel.

Friday, December 10, 2010 - Called Dr. Castellano's office to see if they had made my appointments for me and was told not yet. Talked to my honey 2 and 3/4 hours. Wrote a poem or two.

Saturday, December 11, 2010 - Did laundry. Talked to David 5 hours can't wait for him to get back to the states.

Sunday, December 12, 2010 - Worked on my novel most of the day. Spent an hour chatting with David.

Monday, December 13, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Hasseled with a creditor. Talked to Jesse for half and hour. Talked to David 4 and 1/2 hours...thank goodness for Yahoo Instant Messager.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010 - Went mall walking with Heather. Talked to David 1 and 1/4 hours. I know those of you who read this are probably tired of hearing about David...but just imagine what Heather and Kent have to put up with....lol.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010 - Trash day! Woo hoo! Talked to David half an hour. Accepted an answer to one of my questions on WebAnswers. Worked on my novel most of the day. I have an appointment at OSU Ross Medical Center for a chest CT scan at 7:45 a.m. (ugggg) on Friday of this week. Doesn't that sound like fun? As to the ultrasound of my neck not scheduled at this posting.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Catch up time again.

Thursday, December 2, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Went to Dr. Pattisons to pick up the two cd's he had waiting for me to take to my appointment at Ohio State Medical Center. We looked at them on the computer later that night. Talked to Jesse and Dave today also.

Friday, December 3, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Talked to Dave today. Posted a poem online.

Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Worked on my novel. That was it.

Sunday, December 5, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Talked with Dave for several hours.

Monday, December 6, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Talked to Dave. Went to choir with Heather and sang with them. Had a good time.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010 - Went to my primary care doctor as a follow up to the hospital visit last week. She told me I was healthy and that she and Dr. Pattison discussed my situation. Then she told me I could go. I had my appointment at Ohio State University Medical Center with the cardio surgeon Dr. Castellano. This was a 2 1/2 hour appointment. He said the numbness/tingling in my arms could have been a pinched nerve but the numbness/tingling in the left side of my face was a TIA (a mini stroke). They also pointed out that my tricuspid valve was leaking and needed repair. That was news to me. They want two more tests ran. A CT of my chest to see how badly the sternum is separated and an ultra sound of my neck to see of the cartoid artery is clogged. What a fun day. After the tests are done we will make a decision on what to do next.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010 - Had a problem logging on to Yahoo this morning. I tried it again and it worked just fine. Talked to my Aetna nurse for our monthly chat and I filled her in on what was going on. Then I talked to my primary care doctor and she needs orders from Dr. Castellano to do the ultra-sound. Next I called Dr. Pattison to find out why he hadn't mentioned the tricusped valve. He said I've always had it and that I hadn't gotten worse and it was 3 + which isn't bad. That's why he wasn't concerned about it. Collected the trash. We put up and trimmed our Christmas tree. Dave and I talked a little bit.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Okay...have a lot to catch up on.

Friday, November 26, 2010 - Heather, Brian, and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Kent wanted to sleep...he has a busy work day. That was about it.

Saturday, November 27, 2010 - Didn't do a lot today either. Spent some time with my special friend.

Sunday, November 28, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Talked with my special friend. Twice through out the day I had the feeling of squeezing in my chest, then both of my arms would tingle (kind of like your foot waking up from falling asleep). The first time the squeeze lasted 2-3 minutes and the tingling 4 minutes. The second time 2 minutes and 2 minutes. I was home alone at both episodes so I did nothing about it except try to relax.

Monday, November 29, 2010 - About an hour after I got up the tingling effect was still going on on the left side of my face and down my left arm. Another hour later I told Heather what was going on and called my primary care doctor. She advised that I go to the ER. Heather drove me to Mt. Carmel west and I was admitted to the CIMCU (Cardiac Internal Medicine Care Unit) for observation.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010 - All of my tests were normal: brain scan, cholesterol, sugar, coumanin, and whatever else they were checking for. My cardiologist told me that my split breastbone (from my open heart surgery almost 4 years ago) was still not healed but was spreading further apart. He wanted a surgeon for a consult. Through this all Heather and her friends, and my David have been with me and a source of comfort.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010 - I was told by the surgeon that there was nothing that could be done to repair the breastbone, so I was being released. They released me and Heather and I headed home. While in the car my cardiologist called madder than ever he was not happy with what the surgeon had to say. He felt there was something that could be done to ease the pressure the spreading breastbone was putting on the nerves causing the tingling. So I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon for an other consult. This is scheduled for Dec. 7. Plus I have an appointment the same day to see my primary care doctor. So that has caught you all up to date.

Catching up again....what else is new?

Sunday, November 21, 2010 - Today was Heather's concert. It was lovely. The weather was a little nippy, but sunny. Afterward we went to Mark and Roberta's (osmosis daughter) home to visit and eat pizza. We even made S'mores over a campfire out back, hadn't done that for many years. It was a terrific day.

Monday, November 22, 2010 - Worked on my book most of the day. Wrote a follow up letter on the novel at the submissions desk waiting to see if they are interested.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010 - Worked on my book. Spent time chatting with my special friend.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010 - The day before Thanksgiving. Worked on my novel. Made cranberry sauce and Amy's Pumpkin Bars. Talked to two very dear friends and with my special friend. Got up at 1:30 and watched Heather make a pumpkin roll. It was entertaining.

Thursday, November 25, 2010 - Happy Thanksgiving! Heather has to work in the morning until three this afternoon. We will go to Mark and Roberta's with the cranberry sauce and pumpkin goodies early evening. I wish everyone a safe and lovely day. I am so thankful for my friends and family, as well as for the one dear to my heart and so far away.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Behind as usual.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010 - I went to WebAnswers and answered a couple of questions, but spent most of my day working on my novel.

Wednesday, November 17, 2020 - Trash day, woo hoo. Did some cleaning in the living room and worked on my novel.

Thursday, November 18, 2010 - Paid a couple of bills and worked on my novel. Called the cable company and complained about their online pay option. Got absolutely nowhere.

Friday, November 19, 2010 - Went to the bank and to Krogers. The rest of the day I squandered. Kent worked at both Speedway and Kmart so the day was longer than normal. We did not eat dinner until 10:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 20, 2010 - Laundry day...enough said.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Guess what....behind again.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010 - Worked on my book. That was pretty much it.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010 - Trash day as usual. We went to WalMart and did our shopping. Got my exercise for the day. A possible "date" called me five times. We did a lot of talking. That sucked up my day.

Thursday, November 11, 2010 - Spent numerous hours on the phone with the man mentioned above. We agreed to meet for coffee tomorrow at Frischs Big Boy. Talked with an old friend of mine for half an hour via Skype. Worked some more on my novel.

Friday, November 12, 2010 - Had the coffee "date". Was not impressed. We decided to not pursue getting together. Then I went and got my monthly blood draw to check my blood thinner level. Worked on my novel. Spent some time IM'ing a friend.

Saturday, November 13, 2010 - Spent two hours Im'ing the friend mentioned above. Then I IM'd another friend for a few minutes. Did some laundry and worked on my novel.

Sunday, November 14, 2010 - Cleaned a few corners out in the living room and the bedroom to make space for winter things for Heather, Kent, and Brian. We moved "unused" and summer things to the storage shed. That took up most of everyones time. Heather's friends (including an osmosis daughter) helped as well. They are much appreciated for this help. Finished up my laundry.

Monday, November 15, 2010 - My back and right leg are screaming at me from all the lifting, shoving, and stooping that I did yesterday. Plan to work on my novel, but for some strange reason I have been remembering the past thirty years. I know its because of some love letters I found yesterday.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Not too far behind this time...lol.

Thursday, November 4, 2010 - Talked with my insurance nurse. We are just about done discussing heart failure (whoopie). Once a month we have a phone call to see how things are going. Worked on my novel. I'm really in a groove on this one. I created a website to promote my work. The website is: http://lbmunn.webs.com/ .

Friday, November 5, 2010 - Did some laundry. Worked on my website and worked on my novel. I really felt productive.

Saturday, November 6, 2010 - Talked to Michelle today. She's ill with pnuemonia and three broken ribs from coughing. She and Stephanie have the same symptoms, miles apart from each other (Anoka, MN and Pickerington, OH) , half sisters indeed. Worked on my novel and did more laundry.

Sunday, November 7, 2010 - Talked briefly to Jonathan today. Worked on my book. We went to GFS to get meat and other staples. Kent took us out to lunch. We went to steak 'n shake. Then we hit KMart for an employees discount sale.

Monday, November 8, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Informed family and friends of my website. Day is still in progress we'll see whatelse happens. Before I forget Kent worked a 13 hours shift today. He is wiped out.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Shame on me again.

My last post was October 28, so will start with -

Friday - October 29, 2010 - First off it's my brother birthday. Happy Birthday You! The day was spent working on my novel. Not real exciting.

Saturday - October 30, 2010 - My Norton security stopped. So with the help of Dawn and Richard I downloaded AVG security, which is free...a price I can afford. That took a bit of the day.

Sunday - October 31, 2010 - Happy Halloween!! Wrote on my book almost all day.

Monday - November 1, 2010 - Where is this year going? Dang! We did a lot of running around today getting Kent's stuff to all agree. Then he and I both needed to talk to our banker to clear some things up. Then we paid the rent. I worked on my novel when I could.

Tuesday - November 2, 2010 - Worked on my novel. I'm building a website for my writings since this blog turned into a little more than I originally thought it would be. Its more a diary.

Wednesday - November 3, 2010 - The highlight of the week....trash day! Woo hoo! For some unknown reason my eyes have been bugging me. They feel scratchy, watery, and tired. Since I feel pretty good otherwise I'm blaming allergies.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Two days...the gap is gapping.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010 - It was a calm day at the start. Worked on my novel. Did not hear back from the publisher. Got the trash together and Kent got Halloween colored (orange and purple) lights strung up outside. Talked to a nice friend on Yahoo. Got a message from Jonathan that he wanted to talk so we talked last night. Started out good ended on a sour note.

Thursday, October 28, 2010 - Got another message from Jonathan this morning. Wanting to talk this evening. Will be working on my novel most of the day. That's the plan for today. We'll see how the "talk" goes tonight.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Gee, imagine this, no big gap in posting. lol.

Did a follow up note with the publisher yesterday (October 25) that I have a novel out to for consideration. Haven't heard anything back yet (not that I expected to). Spent a lot of time working on the next entry into the series. One in print (Snow Flower), one at the publisher for consideration, and the one I'm working on. I have several more ideas for that series as well.

Jonathan and I are no longer speaking to each other. It was a hard decision to make but I made it. Heather and I went to Blacklick Park for fresh air and "blowing out of cobweb" time. It did improve my attitude. Live and learn. All is well today.

We are supposed to be in a severe storm watch as I type. They say winds of 50-60 miles per hour are possible. I can believe that. The wind is howling around the trailer and shaking the skirting. Just hope that big, old, leaning pine behind us doesn't decide to "drop" in.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Here I go again. Sorry to be so slow.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 - Finished up my laundry. Worked on my novel. Talked with Jonathan for a couple of hours.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010 - Gathered up the trash for pick up tomorrow. Swept the kitchen floor. Went to the bank, had lunch, then went to Consumer Credit Couciling. Talked with Jonathan in the evening for 3 hours.

Thursday, October 21, 2010 - Worked on my novel most of the day. Talked to Jonathan for 2 hours.

Friday, October 22, 2010 - Worked on my novel for the majority of the day. I talked with Jonathan for half an hour.

Saturday, October 23, 2010 - Made the bed, which I do every day, watered the plants, did dishes, paid 3 bills, and worked on my novel. Jonathan and I talked for an hour.

Sunday, October 24, 2010 - Worked on my novel and blog. Have not spoken to Jonathan today outside of sending him an email. Paid 2 bills.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

I know.

October 13, 2010 -Wednesday

Dyed my hair auburn with Heather's help. She did all the work. I just sat there. Well it turns out that I have "stubborn hair". I am now a hot redhead...lol. We went walking the paths at Pickerington Ponds State Park. Then we went to WalMart. I was pooped so Kent went in by himself. Then he took us out to dinner at TX Roadhouse. We got the trash out on time. Chatted with Jonathan.

October 14, 2010 - Thursday

Worked on my novel most of the day. Submitted a poem. It was a pretty quiet day. Chatted with Jonathan.

October 15, 2010 - Friday

Worked on my novel. Talked to Jesse. I haven't felt up to par the past day or so. It's lack of rest and all the activity I had the week before walking the parks. We have three parks left then we will have been to all the local metro parks. Chatting late into the night with Jonathan isn't helping with the getting rest...lol.

October 16, 2010 - Saturday

Worked on my novel. Took a long nap. We went to GFS to buy our meats for the month.

October 17, 2010 - Sunday

Worked on my novel. I know this sounds boring but I am on a roll with this one and want to keep going with it before the brick wall of writer's block hits me. Chatted with Jonathan, nothing new.

October 18, 2010 - Monday

Did some laundry. Worked on my novel. We ran some errands: the bank, Gander Mountain to get Heather some shoes, Walmart, then McDonald's for dinner. Chatted with Jonathan...lol. I sent a follow up note to the publisher that supposedly is thinking about the novel I submitted to them.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Dang! I'm really behind!

Sunday, October 3, 2010 - Went over to John and Leigh Ann's to see Brian and help to celebrate Jim and Jared's birthdays. We were invited for dinner. Had a really good time.

Monday, October 4, 2010 - Went to meet a school friend that was in town for a vendor fair. He's from Fostoria, Ohio and we visited for about an hour. It was nice to see him. We've been talking on facebook for several months. The next time he comes to town he says he'll bring his companion so I can meet her. Worked on my novel the rest of the day.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010 - Worked on my novel and talked to Dana (my insurance wellness nurse). She was checking in to see if I was still sticking to my game plan.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010 - Worked on my novel and made a rhubarb pie (store bought so I just tossed it into the oven). Got the trash together so it could be taken to the curb.

Thursday, October 7, 2010 - Talked to Michelle for an hour. Talked to Jesse for a few minutes. Worked on my novel. Did some housework.

Friday, October 8, 2010 - Had blood drawn for my RNR (couminin level), then we walked through the Polaris Mall, then went to Krogers for a little shopping. Worked on my novel when we got home.

Saturday, October 9, 2010 - Worked on my novel and goofed off.

Sunday, October 10, 2010 - We went to Slate Run Metro Park to see the working farm. When we got home I became friend's with a guy named Jonathan. Heather, Kent, and I are planning to go to Clear Creek Metro Park tomorrow and I made pasta salad to take with us.

Monday, October 11, 2010 - Clear Creek Park is very rugged terrain. I did manage to climb up a steep hill (with help from Heather) to see a lake that was there. Lake Ramona was my reward. Getting off the hill was a challenge but with Heather's help and a ton of help from Kent we made it down in one piece. Worked on my novel and a new project. Talked to Jonathan for three hours on Yahoo.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010 - Resting today and working on my novel.

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Guess who and guess what? Yep, me and catching up again.

Tuesday - September 27, 2010

Worked on my novel most of the day. I was supposed to hear from a publisher about another novel that I queried them about publishing over 12 weeks ago. Have not heard a peep...hopefully I'll hear soon. I will give them a week then do a followup with them.

Wednesday - September 28, 2010

Worked on my novel. Got the trash together. We had a late night dinner with Chip and Margaret at the Cracker Barrel. Kent treated Heather and I.

Thursday - September 29, 2010

Worked on my novel (I'm really in a grove with this particular one and am loathe to stop) and looked at a few job postings.

Friday - October 1, 2010

Worked on my novel. Went to Blacklick Metro park to bow off some steam. It was a nice cool, breezy, afternoon and so nice to be out of the house without any distraction. Just Heather and I went, Kent opted to stay home. We had a late dinner then watched the DVD of the recent version of "Fame".

Saturday - October 2, 2010

Heather's on her way to a confest in Michigan. She and a friend are driving up and will be spending the night with friends. Kent and I are kicking around here. Last week was a little more stressful than I like, so I'm taking today and most of tomorrow chilling out. I'll do my laundry and some housecleaning to keep me otherwise occupied. Kent and I will have another at home movie night tonight. Not sure what we'll be seeing.

Monday, September 27, 2010

Ketchup time again....har, har.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010 - Sold another book today. Collected the trash (it is Wednesday after all). The rest of the day was spent working on one of my novels.

Thursday, September 23, 2010 - Had a follow up appointment with Mid Ohio Eye Physicians & Surgeons. There was no change in regards to inner eye (cataracts - I have the start of age related ones) from eight months ago. Peripheral vision was perfect. They dilated my eyes with two different solutions. The first was was clear and stung like crazy. My eyes felt like they were on fire. The second solution was yellow and stung just a little, nothing like the first one. Before I left they took pictures of the inside of both eyes. The only thing that changed was my lens power. It was very hot this whole day which meant the sun was bright and I couldn't keep my eyes open very well even with sunglasses on. We picked Kent up from work later than we should have because the appointment took longer than expected. Then we went to WalMart. Heather wanted to go to the farmer's market but decided I needed to get home for several reasons. I got home and went to lay down with my eyes closed. After my nap my eyes felt better. After dinner I worked some more on my novel. I'm scheduled for another eye appointment in eight months (March 2011).

Friday, September 24, 2010 - I had an appointment with Consumer Credit Counseling to get their input on my financial situation. Then I went home did my laundry, changed the bedding, and worked on my novel.

Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Did yard work. Heather and Kent were working thoughout the day (different hours). It just so happened that we were all home for the evening and decided to make it a movie night. We reviewed (Heather and Kent that is) our finances to see if we could afford a movie. It was deemed we could so we went and saw "Nanny McPhee Returns". We all agreed it was a good movie. It made me laugh.

Sunday, September 26, 2010 - Paid a few bills and thought of things I could do to get a better money flow going. Worked on my novel some more.

Monday, September 27, 2010 - Set some gears in motion now I have to wait and see how things work out. Worked on my novel some more. This is the same one I worked on all week. I seem to be in the swing of this one and don't want to lose my momentum. Kent is off to work and Heather just got back from choir. She had the day off and spent most of the time resting,

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Bringing things up-to-date.

Friday, September 17, 2010 - Wasn't all that much going on today. I did Skype with my brother though. He told me that he had been ill with his reoccuring stomach ailment since Labor Day. (He contracted this when he was visiting Dad in the nursing home five years ago.) He just can't shake it. Today was the first day that he felt "human" again. We had Brian this weekend. Heather picked him up at the bus station this evening.

Saturday, September 18, 2010 - The highlight for today was going to Chestnut Ridge Metro Park for a Pond study. The four of us went. Heather and Brian held a frog and we all listened to the ranger give his talk. We were on an observation deck and Kent and I saw two turtles sunning on a log in the middle of the pond and saw a female duck as well. This was via binoculars attached to the deck. The weather was nice and we drove around the park to see whatelse was there. We were surprised at how little the park was. There were walking paths but we decided that they were too rural for me to traverse securely. Brian left us to spend time with his other grandparents. He will be going back home Sunday afternoon. They would take him to the bus station.

Sunday, September 19, 2010 - Heather and I went to Inniswoods Metro Park to listen to a jazz group, then we strolled through the part looking at the many, various gardens, that were there. There was a rose garden, an herb garden, a medicinal garden, a rock garden, a water fall/pond, and the home of the sisters that donated the property to the state for a park. We walked as long as I could tolerate it. We did a good part of the park. Brian texted Heather to tell him that the bus was full and he was on standby. He texted her a little later and said his grandmother was going to drive him halfway home and his dad would get him and take him the rest of the way home. Heather made Banana's Foster in the crockpot this evening. Tasty! I retired early for the night. I was beat.

Monday, September 20, 2010 - Every muscle in the lower half of my body aches. That was the most walking I'd done where it was up and down a lot. It's a good cardio workout, which I need
every now and then. For some reason I didn't feel on the top of my game. In the afternoon we ran some errands and that helped a little.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 - I slept well last night, but I still ache and its from head to toe. I feel worse today than I did yesterday! Go figure! I feel drained. Hope this gets better because I don't like feeling like this.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Here we go again...several days behind.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010 - Not much going on today. I made a coffeecake and put blackberries in it. Dishwasher is not working again, so I have to do dishes by hand. I don't mind doing that but when there are a lot to do it would be nice to get some help without the grumbling. We'll see how that works out.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010 - Did my laundry. Gathered up the trash. Installed windows updates on my computer. Washed dishes by hand. Kent was in Springfield today. Heather was in and out (mostly out) working and getting Kent to and from Springfield. Everyone was home by 10:30 p.m. Had issues with Skype "not responding" today. Had no idea what that was about, but my computer froze up and I had to unplug it and take the battery out before I could get it up and running again. Skype seemed to work after that.

Thursday, September 16, 2010 - Things are pretty quiet around here. I must admit that I have no desire to work on this week's novel. I suppose it is writer's block or just plain lack of interest, if it's lack of interest I more that likely will need to decide whether to "shelve" this one for a while. Maybe its boredom or depression....lol.

Monday, September 13, 2010

This is turning into a weekly blog.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010 - Worked in the yard for awhile. Did the trash.

Thursday, September 9, 2010 - Worked on one of my novels. Made a big bowl of pasta salad.

Friday, September 10, 2010 - Worked on my novel. Skyped with a friend in Chicago for several minutes.

Saturday, September 11, 2010 - Worked on my novel. We went to WalMart and bought a new mop. Watched a DVD for our Saturday movie night. We saw "Anger Management".

Sunday, September 12, 2010 - We spent the afternoon at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. I took two tram rides and we stopped to look at the wind powered windmill that generates the power to run the lights and hand dryers in the parks restrooms.

Right now (7:00 a.m.) I still feel nauseous. I work up at 4:30 a.m. with an upset stomach and bile in my throat. I tried laying down again but it was not helping. I got up, made a cup of tea, and came into my office. An hour ago I took my Gelusil and I can't tell if it's helping. It's about time to take my meds and I need to take them with food. I'm thinking toast and tea. Then I might curl up in the recliner (so I'm not laying flat) and see if I can get some sleep. I don't know if I ate something that was not user friendly with my stomach, or if I picked up some bug from the tram rides, or because I got more sun than usual. I'm hoping it was either something I ate or because of too much sun. I sanitized my hands when we were leaving the park to prevent germ contact. Cannot afford to get an infection or the flu.

Catch up time, again.

Friday, September 3, 2010 - Worked on one of my novels. Posted chapter 4 of Grace and the Dragon on Helium. Heather, her friend, and I went to Schiller Park and saw the play "Dark of the Moon". It was a great night. Kent was working until midnight. Heather worked from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 4, 2010 - Worked on my laundry and one of my novels. Spent some time conversing via Skype with my Indian friend. Today/tonight Kent worked two shifts. His normal shift was second shift, but the third shift people didn't show up, so he ended up working both shifts. Heather worked 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 5, 2010 - This was a busy, busy, day. We did our grocery shopping. Normally not a fun thing, but improving each time we do the "mass" shopping. This day we went to Kroger's (where we did most of the shopping), took it home, and had some lunch. Then we went to get incidentals at Meijer. Next a pet store so Kent could return a newly purchased fish that died overnight and get it replaced. While there he got a replacement fish and several more fish. There are seven small fish in the tank at the moment. We made a quick run to GFS for our bulk shopping, we didn't need much here. Heather wanted us to go to the Whole Food Store so we could see what it was like. It's different. It's very hippy, dippy, and expensive. Kent worked today as well. This shift was 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Heather worked from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Monday, September 6, 2010 (Labor Day) - Every one slept in. I got up around 10:00 a.m. and finished my laundry. Worked on my novel. Heather was off today. Kent worked from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Well, darn! I'm behind again. Where does the time fly?

Saturday, August 28, 2010 - Outside of doing the laundry nothing else exciting went on. Heather worked in the afternoon and Kent was off.

Sunday, August 29, 2010 - Skyped with a friend and IM chatted with another friend. That pretty much took up the afternoon. Both Heather and Kent worked in the morning.

Monday, August 30, 2010 - We went to Walmart for "my" walk. Kent bought some things and said he was going to create dinner. It was great! He marinated chicken strips in mesquite marinade; sauted onions, green pepper, and mushrooms; cooked up bow tie pasta. When all was ready he added a can of diced tomatoes, dumped it in a baking dish and topped with shredded mexican blend cheese. Best surprise we've had in a long time, food-wise. Everyone was home today for a change.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - My insurance nurse called for our monthly wellness update. Did a few answers on WebAnswers. Kind of a slow day. Heather worked in the afternoon. Kent worked in the morning.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - Paid the rent. Talked to a friend via IM chat for a couple of hours. Collected the trash and got it all together. Kent worked in the morning. Heather was off.

Thursday, September 2, 2010 - Heather and I went to Stephanie's doctor's appointment with her. She was scheduled for a ctscan. We were gone all morning. Heather dropped me off at home after we got Stephanie home and then she headed off to work. Kent was off today. He was so bored he straightened up the living room, baked cookies, and made dinner. What a guy!

Friday, August 27, 2010

Yesterday I did some yard work and that did me in for the day. I don't know why it did either. It was lovely outside, not hot and humid, that's why I did yard work. Anyway I had a splitting headache and sore neck so I took a long nap.

I've been working on one of my novels for the last couple of days.

The other day Kent did his laundry and washed and dried a ballpoint pen. The pen exploded in the dryer and left the drum in a mess. We've been trying different methods to remove the ink. The one that seems to work was rubbing the drum with nailpolish remover...worked like a charm. Then you wipe the drum with warm, soapy, water and run the dryer for 30 minutes with nothing in it.

The clothes on the other hand one of which were a pair of tan work pants look like they've been tie dyed. Home remedy didn't work. I told Kent to pick up some OxyClean and we'd see how that worked. His clothes are soaking as I write this. They need to soak 1-6 hours. Then you wash them.

The above two pieces of this journey I did today. Kent worked on the dryer for two days without a lot of success.

Right now Kent and Heather are both at work. Brian is here with me. Heather plans on taking him to Leigh Ann's at 8:00 p.m. He will be going back to Pittsburg over the weekend. School starts for him next week, so he'll be with his dad.

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

The past two days have been pretty hectic.

Monday, August 23, 2010 I had an appointment to get my yearly mammogram. I'm always sore, muscle-wise, afterwards for a couple of days. The test itself is not painful at all...with the right technichian. I was up early so I took a nap...there goes the day.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010 - Up early, again. Cardiology appointment with Dr. Pattison. He was so proud of my progress. My EKG was perfect, blood pressure was normal. He reduced one of my meds, I only take 3 now instead of 4 a week. (He's trying to get me off some of my meds.) If I continue doing this good we might be able to stop the coumanim (woo hoo!). We sent me down for blood test to check my liver function and a couple of other things. I don't need to see him again until March of 2011.

The rest of the day went like this: When blouse shopping for Heather; went to the library; picked up Brian for a stay; dropped of med refills (renewals) at CVS and Krogers; went to lunch at Blocks Bagels; picked up Kent from work; went to Walmarts so Kent could do some shopping; back to Krogers and CVS to pick up our meds; and stopped again at the library.

Today, right at this moment, Kent is at work, Heather is at work, and Brian is sleeping. My day has begun!

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Yesterday was an interesting day. I heard from an old friend from 30 years ago. It was just a note saying hello and please get in touch with them. An email address was included. I did send an email, but have not heard anything back. I wonder what prompted them to want to get in touch with me?

Outside of that, Kent went to Springfield to spend some time with friends for the weekend. We're picking him up tonight. Heather went to Dayton with her friend to a "garden party" thing. She got home around 11:30 last night.

Heather worked today from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. now she is sleeping in the recliner with her laptop in her lap. I'm to get her up for lunch in a few.

Me? Just chilling at the computer. LOL

Friday, August 20, 2010

Today was my yearly pap test. They drew blood, as well, to check my cholesterol. The rest of the day I worked on my poetry.

Kent worked from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Heather worked from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Brian was still with us until 7:00 p.m. then we took him to his other grandparents.

Heather, Kent, and I went to Blendon Woods for a moonlight tram ride. It was truly nice and cool. You could hear frogs and crickets in the woods and see fireflies all around. The smell of fresh grass and wildflowers filled the air. They took us to a marsh area and we could see Canadian geese, as well as wood ducks, before what little light that was left departed for the day. A friend of Heather's met us there and went on the tram ride with us.

Kent, Heather, and Heather's friend are out in the kitchen playing Monopoly.

I'm ready for bed. but it will be a while before I get to go to bed.

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Wednesday, August 18, 2010, Heather picked Brian up and they went to the storage shed to collect things Brian needed to take back to Pittsburg with him when he goes back for school. Fortunately it didn't take long for him to locate what he needed.

Kent wanted to go to WalMart so we went there and did some shopping. We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch.

Heather had plans in the early evening, so it was Brian, Kent, and I for dinner. I made stuffed cabbage with fresh vegetables on the side. While that was cooking I collected the trash and swept the kitchen/utility room floors so the trash could go out to the curb.

Kent had to go to work at 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and as he was leaving he couldn't find his employee badge. Heather took him to work so he wouldn't be late while Brian and I tore the house apart looking for his badge. By the time Heather got back home I had found the badge in the drier. Heather took that and Kent's cellphone back to Speedway so he would have them.

Oh, well what can I say?

Brian spent the night with us. Heather is at work right now (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) not sure if Kent goes to work later. He is sleeping at the moment.

That's it for now.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Well, pooh! Time has slipped past me again.

Monday, August 16, 2010 - Brian was with us so we decided to go to the cheap movies to see Shrek Forever After in 3D. Cost .75 per person....wrong! We got there and it was $2.00 per person (still cheap, but more that we could afford). We saw Marmaduke for .75 each and it was just as good. While dinner was cooking Heather and I went to Value City to window shop (actually we went to see what types of recliners were available and could fit my needs). The recliner I have now is so old that it is hard to close and since I'm shrinking I have a devil of a time sitting in it and getting out of it. I found a recliner that was the right fit and semi-automatic when it came to the reclining part (motor operated). We were also checking out the price ranges. Right now we can't do anything...no room...no money to spare.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - Brian went home to his other grandma. Heather worked from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Kent had the day off. We had made plans to meet Chip and Margaret (brother and sister-in-law for those who didn't know) for dinner at a nearby restaurant. We "hogged" the table for two hours but we had good food and a great visit.

Today - Brian is back with us for the day and we are planning to go to WalMart. Kent needs to get something there. That's where things are for the moment.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Kind of a quiet day. Heather worked from 5 a.m. until 10 a.m. Kent worked from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Heather picked Brian up and he's over here with us.

He played paintball yesterday with some of his uncles and he had a good time. He, also, garnered a few bruises out of it.

It seems so much like a Monday instead of Sunday. At dinner time I tried to take my Monday meds when I realized it was Sunday. Now the Sunday box in my pill rack still had my evening meds in it. What clued me into the fact that something was amiss was there were "colored" pills in my hand and it should have been all white pills. I take the blue, green, pink, and some white ones in the morning. Duh. Made the correct pills happen and all is well. LOL.

Saturday, August 14, 2010

Not feeling all that good today. Not ill, just out of sorts. Alot of it seems to be my sinuses. The one behind my left eye felt soooo much better after a hot compress was put on it. I then took a short nap which helped. I've been up four hours now and it's beginning to ache again.

Kent worked from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Heather had the day off. Her friend, Mark F., is visiting with her, he's been here most of the day. I managed to get the laundry started.

It's been beastly hot around here, but it did rain for a bit and has cooled it down a little, but it is still humid. Air conditioning is a good thing.

Friday, August 13, 2010

I relized that I haven't been mentioning what I have been doing writing-wise. This week I have been working on my cartoons. The week before, if I forgot to mention it, I worked on the next novel in my series. This would be book three of two in the Flickertail Saga (Snow Flower in print) and (Tehya's Tree out in the market world) and the one I'm writing.

That's pretty much it for today. Kent worked until 6:00 a.m. and is currently sleeping. Heather is at work now until 3:00 p.m.

Michael (the neighbor boy) is mowing my grass. He mows my yard in exchange for using my lawnmower to mow his yard. Works for me. We've done this for 6 years now.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

I had a rough sleeping night on Tuesday, so I slept when I could. Yesterday, Wednesday, didn't go as planned. Supposedly I would be home alone, but it didn't happen. Instead we had company in the evening. Two of Heather's friends were in town from Boston.

Grandpa Kurt sent me a WebCam and I installed it late last night. Then I had to get Kent to show me how to make a call. I already had Skype but the install program wanted me to do something to get Skpye...so it confused an easily confused old broad...lol. I didn't want to do anything that would mess up the installation. Thank goodness for grandchildren!

A big thanks to Grandpa Kurt for his generousity.

I did manage to get the trash together yesterday since it was trash day. Kent had to go into work for a couple of hours so Heather took it to the curb for me.

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Right at the moment everyone is at work. Kent went in at 5:50 a.m. and works until 2:00 p.m. so I am expecting him home any time now. Heather works from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Her plan then is to pick up Brian and some KFC for dinner and return home with both.

Supposedly I might be home alone tomorrow. Guess we'll wait and see. Kent is planning on going to Springfield to visit friends and Heather has plans for the day. I'm not sure where Brian fits into all this.

I still have a sore right side (rib cage area) from my yard work yesterday. I took an Advil last night before I went to bed to see if that would help. I ended up tossing and turning for a while before I dozed off for a couple of hours.

I talked on Skype with my brother today. He still sounds under the weather. This heat seems to be exceptionally hard on him this year. He was just checking in to see how I was. We talked for a little bit.

Then Kurt Jesse called me on the cellphone to tell me that he had a serious sunburn. I sympathsized with him. I have had serious sunburns myself. We talked for a little bit.

That's how the day has been.

Monday, August 9, 2010

It's been a quiet day so far. Kent got home okay (he worked 10 p.m. yesterday until 6 a.m. this morning) and is now sleeping. It looks like he has the rest of the day off. I worked out in the yard and got the trimming done that I planned to do before it got too hot. Heather is now at work and will be there until 6 p.m. Kent is still sleeping. I've got the dishwasher going, hope it doesn't wake him up.

My back aches, my hernias hurt, and a chest muscle on the left side of my chest aches....all this thanks to the yard work. I even took it easy. Oh well, good exercise I guess. Hope I can get through the day without a nap. LOL.

Kent got called into work. He's working 4:15 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. He will be beat by the time he gets home.

Sunday, August 8, 2010

A year ago today I lost my long time companion, lover, and friend. Stephen passed away in a nursing home of COPD. I was no longer able to care for him at home. We tried to keep him here, at home, because he knew if he went to the hospital he would not come back. Unfortunately his home care nurse could do nothing more for him and under his doctor's directions an ambulance was called. He spent two weeks in the hospital and four weeks in the nursing home. He was on 100 percent oxygen. Every time I saw him I could see him going downhill. His breathing got harder to do day by day. I miss his humor and caring for me.

We knew each other for twenty years or so, but were a couple for only 15 of them. He wasn't a mechanical, handy-man, type of guy and he freely admitted it. He was someone I could talk to and he would listen. He offered his support and embraces when I needed them. On long hard days at work I would come home and he would have a simple dinner ready and waiting for me. These were the things that endeared him more to me.

Stephen had overcome many hard times. He was an alcholic for years, but was a recovered one years before I met him. I do know that he still attended AA meetings. He was homeless for a while. He had four marriages and we both agreed we were not marrying each other. We lived together, grew together, and held together through our health problems.

He has two beautiful daughters that I accepted as my own. He accepted my daughters as his as well. Between the two of us we had four daughters, three sons-in-law, six grandsons, and four granddaughters. Shortly after his passing he became a great-grandfather for the first time. As it turned out he never meet his youngest grandson, Wyatt, nor Logan his great-grandson.

We know that he is in a better place where he is no longer struggling to breath. He is with his mother, sister Lois, T.Tom, and Baby Jane. He has family with him. May he rest in peace.

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Catch up time.

August 1 (Sunday) - Sat around twiddling my thumbs...arrgg. Did nothing much. Rested up from yard work. This hot muggy weather takes it toll on me. Not to mention the fresh air, sunshine, and labor.

August 2 (Monday) - Walked over and paid the rent and by the time I got home realized I should not have been out in that heat. Had my blood drawn for the couminin level. Worked on the dreaded grocery list. Took Windows updates on my computer. Worked on a novel.

August 3 (Tuesday) - Did my laundry, continued working on the dreaded grocery list (have I mentioned that I hate grocery shopping? It is not one of my favorite things for the past eight years.) Worked some more on my novel.

August 4 (Wednesday) - Dunt, dunt, done - Grocery Day! Everyone was home to day so we went (dunt, dunt, done) grocery shopping! We started at 9:30 a.m. and went to Meijers for the bulk of our shopping. Brought that home. Had lunch. Then went to Krogers for the next wave of deals. Brought that home. Next we went to Gordon Food Store (GFS) and bought meat in bulk. Brought that home. It is now late afternoon and trash needs to be taken care of. I gathered the trash and Kent took it out to the curb for me. I said a sad good-bye to the litter box. Brian was here. That took care of Wednesday.

August 5 (Thursday) - Gathered up remaining cat stuff (wet food, dry food, litter, pan liners, pan deoderizer, flea dip, etc.) so Heather can take it to a friend of her's. Helped out with others laundry, and worked on my novel. Brian, Kent, and Heather went back to the Ohio State Fair.

August 6 (Friday) - Did yard work on till I was dizzy from the heat. Spent most of the day trying to stay awake. Napped a bit. Kent made cookies last night...yummy.

Now we are caught up to today. It's still pretty fresh so not much to report. See you later.

Saturday, July 31, 2010

It is with teary eye that I must report the passing of my beloved Baby Jane. She died peacefully in her sleep yesterday afternoon. She has been my companion for 22 years and a great source of entertainment.

When she was allowed to roam and play outside she was always bringing home presents, such as a dead field mouse or a dead garter snake. I remember the time she came home with a puncture hole between her shoulder blades. We doctored her and it healed without a problem. She had a cute little way of talking it sounded like she was saying "Now" all the time.

As she got older she was kept inside. Her eyesight was failing. She was arthritic. I believe she was getting alzheimers by the way she would come into the room, pause for quite a while, then turn around as though she forgot what she came into the room to do. She liked to cuddle when she was younger but crabby about it when she got older.

I know I didn't say much about T. Tom's (we had him 18 years) passage in April, but he was such a different soul. He was timid, had never gone outside, not much of a cuddler, but still had a personality of his own. He was the one who "reminded us" to take our meds, especially Steve. Baby Jane and I both missed him. She would look for him.

This has been a rough year or so. We lost Steve in August 2009, T. Tom in April 2010, and Baby Jane in July 2010. I miss them all.

Steve is in Forest Lawn, T. Tom is in the back yard, and Baby Jane will be in the front yard flower bed. May they rest in peace.

Friday, July 30, 2010

It's a fairly quiet day so far. Kent was at work from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and is now at home. Brian is here with us and may spend the night again. Heather is at work right now. Her hours today are noon to 6:00 p.m.

On a more sober note: Baby Jane is worse. We did not expect her to make it through the night but she did. I tried to feed her this morning with an eyedropper, but her mouth is clenched so tight I couldn't get the eyedropper in very far. Every now and then she sort of stretches and her breathing is very shallow. Everyone here checks on her every time they pass her. She has had a long life and she has arthritis and a cateract in her right eye. I don't think her hearing is all that good either and at times she acts like she has alzheimers. I marvel at her survival skills all these years. For a 21 year old cat she has lived a full life as an outside and inside cat. As she aged she was kept inside.

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Heather picked up Brian a day early and he is with us tonight and tomorrow night.

Today Heather, Brian, Kent and I went to the Ohio State Fair for a couple of hours. We couldn't stay too long since Kent had to go to work at noon and Heather has orientation for her new PT job. The rain held off and we did quite a bit of walking around. It's just Brian and I here at the moment.

Baby Jane (our cat) is having a rough day today. She's puked three times. First in the kitchen, shortly after she ate, then this afternoon on Heather's side of the bed, and Brian just told me she threw up in the living room. I will be getting off here to put the bedding into the drier and to clean up the new mess.

Don't think I'll be back today.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Sunday Heather and I went over to Stephanie's to give her the Serenity Prayer plaque that was her father's. It had been hanging in the living room on the wall next to the front door for many, many, years. We had a nice visit and Heather played with the cats.

Monday I made tuna and macaroni salad for our meals for the next couple of days. Kent has been working some strange schedules and is working at this very moment. Heather will start a part-time job for our local KMart on Thursday. Yay!

Tomorrow Heather and I (and possibly Kent if he doesn't have to work) plan on going to opening day of the Ohio State Fair. It's the cheapest day to get in.

Now a news flash: I sort of, kind of, have Skype capability! I can see you, hear you, and talk to you, but you can't see me. I don't have a camera at the moment. My Skype name available via email.

Saturday, July 24, 2010

Well now, I have been a slouch on posting here...shame on me.

Thursday (July 15) - Did nothing special. Changed the bedding on my bed, did some paper shredding, and worked on a novel.

Friday (July 16) - Had to fast overnight for my yearly physical this morning. Finally got to eat at lunch time. Will get results of the tests she took next week.

Saturday (July 17) - Did my laundry and made a vat of potato salad for Brian's birthday cookout at his other grandparents.

Sunday (July 18) - Went to the cookout and had a nice time. Heather and Kent wanted me to make more potato salad, so when we got home I made another vat of potato salad. (Vat equals 12 potatoes and two large bowls when done.)

Monday (July 19) - Nothing special today. Played on the computer.

Tuesday (July 20) - Did some yard work before it got too hot. Worked on my family history.

Wednesday (July 21) - Worked on a manuscript and collected trash, it is Wednesday after all.

Thursday (July 22) - Kent treated us to dinner. We had Donatos pizza. Brian was with us for his date day with Mom. Then we went to WalMart so Kent could buy some work shoes. After that we drove Kent to Springfield to spend a day plus some time with a friend of his.

Friday (July 23) - Had my results from my physical to share with my nurse (insurance related). My cholestorol is up, so we're monitoring it. My med was changed by my cardiologist and I'd only been on it two weeks. My thyroid was off so the doctor upped my dosage from 50 mcg to 75 mcg. Glucose was okay. Weight is up eleven pounds. After that conversation I worked on my manuscript.

Today (July 24) - I was by myself all day. That was very different. Heather was out setting up for a concert of the Pops and Kent was still in Springfield. Heather picked him up a 3:30 or there abouts and he got home in time to take a quick shower and get to work. He's working right now and Heather is at the Pops concert. I worked on my family history most of the day.

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Spent most of the day yesterday getting a query letter, synopsis, and the first three chapters in the shape this new publisher wanted them in, then I sent it off. Now I have to wait 6 to 12 weeks before I should hear back from them. I'm still getting the manuscript itself all "tightened up".

I just finished working on the manuscript, but I'm not done yet. Kent is working. Heather had a follow up meeting on a job and is now in her Wednesday meetings. She thinks she'll be home around eight and Kent works until ten.

Today is trash day I've gathered some of it and plan to do the rest this evening. Someone can carry it out to the curb for me.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Catch up time again.

Saturday: We (Heather, Mark, and I) went to Sharon Woods for a tram ride and a walk through the park to the pond. We saw flotillas of ducks and geese. Kent was at work. We had invited Mark to stay for dinner since he and Heather had plans for the evening. They were working at the Picnic with the Pops presentation. I didn't get laundry done or much of anything else.

Sunday: Kent went to work. His hours are early (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), so most of the time we all get up at 5:30. I am ready for a nap about the time he is getting home from work. I worked on the manuscript that I am getting ready for peddling to another publisher.

Today: I had a real reason for getting up early today besides Kent and Heather getting up. Monday I take a pill for osteoporois. You have to do it on an empty stomach, sit or walk around for at least an hour and drink 8 ounces or more of water. Then I have another pill that must be taken on an empty stomach every day for my thyroid, so an hour after the first pill I take this one. Around nine I take the rest of my morning pills that have to be taken with food.

I worked some more on my manuscript. It's just about ready to throw out there to a publisher.
Heather had a job interview this afternoon. She thinks she'll be hired.

Heather is with some friends of hers for dinner and a jam session. A mutual friend had come to town from Michigan. Kent is home from work and has tomorrow off. Maybe we can sleep in to 7:00 a.m.

Friday, July 9, 2010

It's a little cooler out there today. It's raining which is helping. Being a gloomy day none of us are real gung ho about doing anything.

Birthday boy spent the night with us. We had cake and ice cream here to celebrate his special day last night. I made the cake (from scratch) and Heather made the icing (from scratch) and she decorated it with gum drops. We even had candles that we put on the cake and we sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

Kent is off today and will work tomorrow and Sunday. That's all I know of his schedule at this time. He felt that he did a good job yesterday...his first day at the station.

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Kent got to his new job okay. We were all up at 6 a.m. I told the cat it was her fault that we were all up, because she looked confused. Normally she wakes me up so I can feed her and everyone else sleeps on. That was not the case today. She got up on the bed and was standing on me when Kent peeked in on us. Heather got up so she could take him to work. That was when Jane (the cat) looked at me, then Heather, and out in the hall where Kent was. I told her she did a good job getting everyone up and would she please stop standing on me so I could get up. She didn't, of course, so I had to move her. Long story short: Kent got to work, Heather got home and went back to bed, I got up and fed the cat. I am still up.

Want to mention a "Happy Birthday" to Brian! YAY!

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

It's another hot, muggy, day here with bad air quality...so what else is new? I'm here by myself for a couple of hours.

Heather took Kent to his orientation for the new job. They are planning to go to the library to return books, DVD's, and CD's that they had borrowed. Then Heather has her regular Wednesday evening "thing". Kent and I will be gathering trash, our regular Wednesday chore.

Brian will be over tomorrow for his "date day" with his mom. We're planning on having meatball subs, homemade french fries, and a vegetable of some sort. Tomorrow is his official birthday but the family won't be celebrating until the 18th with a cookout at his other grandparents place.

Saturday: We did our grocery shopping. We went to Big Lots for our non-edible needs (e.g. toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwashing soap. Next we went to WalMart for the majority of our food shopping and last, but not least, we went to GFS for bulk meat. All in all, it wasn't stressful and we accomplished what we set out to do.

Sunday: It was pretty quiet here. Heather brought a friend home with her in the evening to play Rock Band and Mahjong. They had a great time.

Monday: In the evening I became a brat and had a temper tantrum. This morning I realized it for what it was - it was depression. I went to bed after the tantrum (before 10:00 pm and I had just gotten up from a nap) and I slept until 6:30 this morning. This is pretty unusual for me. I just didn't want to do anything.

Today: I apologized to my daughter and grandson for being such a brat. I still am feeling a little depressed, but I'm trying to get out of that rut.

Surprise! A more speedy post.

Yesterday I went out to trim around the back of the mobile home. You should know that the backyard is narrow and sloped and I am not all that steady. I use a cane to get around and in order to do yard work I carry a few things to where I'm working (trash can for waste, bucket with hand tools, and a garden cart (seat). I had just started hand trimming when the neighbor behind me came up and asked me what I was doing. I told him trimming. He said that he would do it for me for nothing. He said he's always working in his yard which is large and it would be nothing for him to weed wack with his trimmer. I thanked him and carted all my stuff back inside. Thirty minutes later he was outside trimming...it took all of twenty minutes for him. I made a point to thank him again.

Heather got up and asked what my plans for the day were and I told her it was yard work but now I'd rather take a walk in the park. She, Brian, and Kent are going downtown tonight to see Red, White, and Boom. I declined because of the crowds and the noise. Anyway Heather and I walked half of the trail that connects Pickerington Park to Blacklick Woods Metro Park. It was a beautiful day and the trail follows Blacklick Creek lined with numerous wild flowers. As it got nearer to noon we returned home because it was getting hotter and begining to get harder for me to breath. Humidity and heat affects me that way.

I made chicken cacciatori for dinner and it was well recieved by the tribe. They all said they would eat it again.

We were all up late watching the movie UP and when it was over we all said we were hungry so a midnight run was made to Taco Bell for a snack. After I devoured my Cruchwrap I went to bed.

Bad me, bad me, I haven't posted for awhile.

Sunday: Worked on revamping one of my manuscripts. That is tiring, believe it or not, so I took a nap and that took care of the rest of my day.

Monday: Did some laundry and housework. Went back to my manuscript to revamp it, still.

Tuesday: Ran Malware and Norton on my pc. That took several hours. Worked on an outline for another manuscript for a change of pace then back to the one I'm revamping. I have a few more chapters before I can say I'm finished with it. I made Magic Cookie Bars for our evening treat. They are good!

Kent went on a job interview and got hired. He doesn't start for a couple of days. Heather went to Philadelphia to pick up Brian. He's spending the night with us.

Wednesday: Worked a little in the yard, gathered the trash (it's Wednesday, again), and worked on my revamping. Brian was with us until three this afternoon then he was delivered to his other grandparents for a "family" thing.

Here's the scoop!

Yesterday the cable people were here and exchanged the main cable box for a different one. All seems to be working fine. I went and had my blood drawn to have my coumadin level checked, then we went to Krogers to pick up a couple of refills.

I worked on my manuscript and made a strawberry coffeecake (but not at the same time).

Today the plans are to do laundry (which is started) and to enjoy a couple of DVD's. After dinner tonight we plan on going to Slate Run Metro Park for a Bat tour (eat your heart out Dawn - lol). The tour starts at 9:00 pm. Hopefully we won't get eaten by mosquitoes.

Heather worked out in the yard for me today. She put a fence around those pesky tiger lillies and did a repair job on my falling off its pedestal mailbox. I really appreciate all that she has done.

Kent had a job interview this morning and he seemed satisfied with how it went.

Friday, June 25, 2010

Golly how time flies! Once again I have missed several days of posting. Here we go to catch you up.

Sunday: Didn't do a heck of a lot. I did spend a lot of time revamping one of my manuscripts. That was it for Sunday.

Monday: Having issues with the cable on the tv in the living room. We've been doing what the cable company suggested and it only work for a short time. Since I don't watch the living room tv as much as Kent does he's been complaining about the lack of channels on a regular basis. Worked on my manuscript. We went to a concert at a park in Worthington. US Army brass band played, they were great!

Tuesday: Answered questions on WebAnswers. Worked on two manuscripts. Tv still acting up.

Wednesday: Made two doctors appointments. One for my yearly physical and the other for my pap test. Wooppee! Picked up meds and worked on the manuscript that needs revamping. Tv still an issue.

Thursday: Called the cable company they are sending a repairman out on Friday between 8:00am and 10:00am. Have more meds waiting to be picked up and worked on my manuscript revamp. It sucks that each publishing house has different needs on the format of your manuscript, that is why I'm revamping it.

Today: Waiting for the cable guy. Got up early so I wouldn't be caught unprepared. I'll try to return later to leave an update.

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Friday - Worked in the yard for awhile. Heather helped me finish it up. Worked on one of my manuscripts until my allergies (assisted by yard work) got the better of me. I took a Sudafed and a nice nap. Brian spent the day with us Thursday and spent the night, then we returned him to his other grandparents.

Saturday - Normally laundry day for me but I don't have enough to make a load yet. Heather and Kent did their respective laundries yesterday. Paid a couple of bills and worked on my manuscript. It is movie night tonight and we are going to watch "Where The Wild Things Grow".

Thursday, June 17, 2010

It was a short night for me. My feet felt like they were on fire (they get that way when I get hot) and made it impossible for me to get back to sleep. I was up at 2:30 a.m. and stayed up. I'm beginning to feel it now. I'm going to take my morning meds then maybe go back to bed to see if I can sleep. Prior to this sleepless night I had planned to hand trim in the flower bed, but not if I'm tired...I might trim a toe off.

Kent and his grandfather, Kurt, were able to talk via Skype last night. That was pretty interesting. I could see the advantage of Skype. Now all we need is a smell-a-phone...lol.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

I worked on my manuscript and on my cartoons today. I even got caught up on the three Lifetime sitcoms that I fell in love with and can't watch on tv anymore, so I watch them on the computer. The three shows are Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, and the Secret Life of the American Teenager. We had to cut back on the premium channels we were getting on cable in order to save money.

Today is trash day and eat dinner late day. We will be eating around 8:15/8:30 tonight. We're going to have hamburgers and homemade (scratch) french fries.

Dawn has created a blog called "Eating the Bucket List". It looks pretty interesting and I have become a follower of it.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Heather went to her son's graduation today. This took place in PA. and she is driving him back here for the summer.

I paid a couple of bills, worked on one of my manuscripts, and talked to Michelle today. I answered several questions on WebAnswers as well. When I get done here I plan on working on my cartoons.

On the whole its been a quiet day and I got a lot done on my manuscript.

Monday, June 14, 2010

To unconfuse people I would like your input on the following "naming" of offspring. Instead of daughter one, two, three, four, etc and the same with grandchildren how about first names? Daughters Dawn, Michelle, Heather, Stephanie. and Grandsons Kurt, Joe, Kent, Blake, Brian, Wyatt and Granddaughters Ashley, Amanda, Mariah, and Cynthia.
Daughter is on her way to attend her son's graduation then she will be bringing him here to stay with his other set of grandparents until he has to go back to school or we have a house big enough for the four of us.

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Yesterday and today I worked on three of my manuscripts. One is in the writing stage, another is being revamped for submission to a publisher, and the last one is having family photos scanned in for a family album.

I ran Norton Full Scan and Anti Malware scan. That took most of the day.

Friday, June 11, 2010

Once again...I'm behind with postings.

Tuesday - Answered a couple of questions on WebAnswers and asked a question. Worked on one of my novels. Went to WalMart to get some exercise. I made a chicken pot pie from scratch. It turned out well and was a hit. That was about all I did.

Wednesday - Trash Day! Through out the day I collected the trash. I worked on my novel. Grandson made most of our dinner with me helping by doing oven fries. He made chili dogs and mac and cheese. Dinner was a hit. We nominated daughter to cook the next day. Grandson made a fruit salad for our bedtime treat.

Thursday - Heard back from the publisher I was trying to interest in one of my manuscripts. They sent a polite, but no go, email. Now I will look for another publisher to poke. That took up a large part of the day. Daughter made Indian food, something I've not had much of. We had grilled chicken with chutney, rice pilaf, and nani (a bread of sorts), plus she made a dessert to top the meal off. It was all very tasty even though she wasn't happy with how it turned out. It was edible and yummy...even she admitted that.

Friday - Today we went to Blacklick Woods Metro Park and walked one of the trails. I ran malware to check my computer for viruses...it took a little time so I worked on my novel while that was going on. When I leave my blog I will work on my resubmission items.

Monday, June 7, 2010

It's plain to see that I missed a couple of days here. This is getting habit forming.

Friday - I worked in the yard weeding while Grandson washed off the patio furniture and hosed down the front of the house and the patio. That took the stuffing out of me.

Saturday - I was homer a loner. Daughter and Grandson went over to Daughter's friends house and they ripped out carpeting in two rooms. It took all day. The one room was on concret and the furring was cemented into the basement floor. So we had a late night. I spent my day online goofing off.

Sunday - I was on my own again. Grandson went back over to rip carpeting out of two more rooms and two closets. Everything got done but one closet. Daughter dropped him off to do this while she went to an arts fair in the downtown area with another friend of her's. I did my laundry, did a little reading, knitting, needlepoint, and was on the internet the rest of the time.
Grandson worked all day and still has a closet left to do. That has yet to be scheduled.

Today - Worked out in the yard today trimming around the patio. Did some educational reading, knitting, needlepoint, and weights. I wrote on one of my novels and posted something here. I'll be roasting a chicken for dinner tonight and we're all supposed to be here to eat.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Did some more shredding of old documents. It's a long, slow, process. I don't like doing it even though I know it needs to be done.

Another thing I'm not truly looking forward to is this first time grocery shopping with Grandson Three and Daughter Three. They have their own ideas on who buys what and when to buy it. Since I'm not contributing anything to pay for the groceries I don't think I should interfere. I can see where Grandson wants to be the "man" of the house, but we need to make this more of a democracy. No one needs to feel "not" important to the living arrangements. This will be a learning lesson.

We are in the adjustment stage as it is. Daughter is an active person with a schedule that is packed with activity, plus she is working. She feels she needs to avail herself for making sure I am out doing things and getting to any appointments I might have. I don't want her to feel that I'm tying her down to caring for me...I'm not ready for that! I do like the things that we have done together they've been fun, but she needs sometime for herself as well.

Grandson wants something to keep him busy. I know he's bored to death, he's used to being busy. He's job hunting and hasn't had much luck yet. His social life is as bad as mine is. We have no friends nearby to hang out with. All of his friends are in Springfield, so I know it's tough on him. He's been helping with the yard work and other 'manly' things that I couldn't do myself.

Enough of me running my mouth. I'll let it go for now.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Trash day today. We will have more than usual due to things breaking around here and rearranging things. I now need to purchase a new floor mop and the tree lobber is broken but the company will replace it for nothing. I like that kind of guarantee.

Haven't heard from the publisher that I queried. I have been uploading photos for the family manuscript.

We will be grocery shopping later tonight. After 8:30 probably.

Need to finish the trash and get dinner started.

Before I forget - Daughter Four's knee went out on her last night and she has a stabilizing brace on it and will need to wear it four to six weeks. I know she is in horrible pain. Need to see if she needs any help or something.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

My daughter's son was in town today so we all got together and went to Three Rivers Park for a tram ride through the woods. It was beautiful and educational. It had been raining in the morning but had cleared up and was pleasant for the ride and rest of the day.

Daughter's son had to be back at his other grandparents because Dad was going to be there to take him home to PA. She took him there, then went to meet up with a friend of her's. That left grandson three and me at home for dinner on our own. We tried out a new dish, Tamale Pie, that wasn't bad. We had plenty of leftovers so that will be our dinner tonight.

I keep forgetting that it is Tuesday, today, and not Monday. So sometime today I need to get to WebAnswers and answers some questions. Grandson Three has been rearranging my kitchen today. I wish he would leave things alone, but we compromised on a few things. It will take awhile for me to adjust I'm sure.

He pulled a trick on me and it took me two days to realize he did it. He lengthened my cane. I was getting frustrated that it keep falling off the spots that I used to hang it on. Plus I noticed my shoulder was sore and I had done nothing to make it sore. Then I saw that the cane was taller. He then confessed to having changed it. I asked him not to do it again because it could make me hurt myself.

Sunday, May 30, 2010

Wasn't feeling on top of the world today. I was dizzy for awhile in the morning so I laid down for a quick nap and that seemed to have helped. I did a load of laundry. Did some knitting and a little bargello. It's so hot and humid that my throat is acting up. Got to love chronic laryngitis. Didn't work on a manuscript or anything of that nature.

Saturday, May 29, 2010

Boy have I been a slacker! Shame on me. Now some catch up.

Tuesday: Spent most of the day working on one of my manuscripts. Answered a couple of questions on WebAnswers. One of which was awarded as an accepted answer.

Wednesday: Trash day and we had a lot this week due to the mess left from our broken water heater and installation of a new one. What a mess! Grandson went to Sprinfield to visit some friends. One of daughter's friends had a heart attack and she plans on going to Dayton to see him tomorrow. Then she will pick up grandson and they will return home. Worked on my manuscript.

Thursday: Worked some more on my manuscript. Grandson returned from Springfield in the evening late. Since he and daughter hadn't eaten all day I fixed a light dinner for them at 11:00 P.M.

Friday: Got some financial stuff together for daughter. She got her first paycheck today. The car needed the oil changed and a good once over. Then for a treat we all went to Lone Star and had a lovely dinner. She and grandson went to the store later in the night and picked up a few things. Grandson decided to clean out my refrigerator before he put the groceries in it. We were all up until two thirty in the morning. We watched two DVD's too. We saw "The Pink Panther" and "Miracle".

Saturday (today): I was pretty lazy. I got up and fed the cat then went back to bed and slept until 1:30 p.m. Daughter is at Marcon and won't be home until tomorrow. Grandson and I will be having pizza and a movie (the last Harry Potter one) later tonight. That's it for now.

Monday, May 24, 2010

Gee! I hadn't realized I'd missed a day or two of posting. Sorry, readers....if there are any of you. lol

Saturday: The three of us went to the Craftacular event in Clintonville. We were only there for an hour or two, but we had an nice time and saw lovely handmade items. We wished that we had some spare money so we could purchase some of what we saw. Grandson and I came home and daughter went to help friends rip out some carpet. Later that night when we were all home together we watched the movie "Radio". It is a great movie.

Sunday: We all slept in late. I worked in the yard in the afternoon while the rest of them rested up. We planned on having BBQ'd spareribs for dinner and daughter was going to do them in the crock pot. They turned out pretty well and we had enough leftover so that we can have spareribs for dinner tonight. We ate our lunch out on the patio. It was nothing fancy just sandwiches, chips, and fruit but it was a fun thing to do.

Today: The wrecking crew is back next door working on what they had started. The noise that they are making sounds like thunder and sometimes shakes my floor like thunder does. Cleaning bathrooms for my excitement for the day. I, also, contacted Fiskar because my pruning stik came apart. They asked me to send a picture and they would replace it. We'll see how that turns out. I sent them a picture online.

That's it for now.

Friday, May 21, 2010

We had some excitement in the neighborhood today. The business that was behind my home was razed today. It used to be Williams Trailer Sales but was closed for numerous years. A bulldozer has most of it knocked down. It looks odd when I look out the back windows.

I finished up the laundry. Submitted a chapter of a child's book that I had written to Helium. I wrote a little more on one of my other novels. It's been pretty quiet around here (if you over look the noise made by the bulldozer).

I will say goodnight for now. Sleep tight.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Yesterday I made Apple Muffins. Worked on my novel. Took a shower, did dishes in the dishwasher. I am so happy that the dishwasher is working again! We had a very late dinner last night. Eight o'clock is late for me. It was taco night and daughter wanted to be here for it. She had a meeting after work which is why we eat later on Wednesdays.

Today, I let the dishwasher do dishes again (lol) and took daughter's clothes out of the washer and put them into the drier. I need to do my own laundry, but haven't started it yet. I'm dealing with a weird headache so I laid down for a little bit...it seemed to have help. I've spend a lot of time working on my book just in the event that the headache was related to eyestrain and the computer.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

It was a pretty quiet day around here today. I hand washed two days worth of dishes, dried them, and put them away. It sure is nice to have hot running water and to be able to flush a toilet. Grandson washed (twice) the towels we used to sop up the water during our mini flood. They got dried and I folded them. Next I took the sheets off the bed that daughter and I share and I plan to shower before I go to bed and put clean ones on. Daughter had her shower this morning before she went to work. Toilets ran for a while but I think I now have them under control. The kitchen fawcet had no pressure coming out of it so I removed the screen and it was filled with gravelly stuff. Got that all cleaned out and pressure is better. Then miracle of miracle's the dishwasher came back to life (after not working for 5 months) so I washed dishes in it and it ran just fine. Go figure!

I wrote on one of my novels. Plus I wrote something here. Oh, I also spent some time answering questions on Web Answers. Good day all around.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Water heater got replaced. We now have running water and hot water. Now we have to restore some order to the place. Grandson as been working on it while I made dinner. After the workmen left we had some errands to run. Grandson had business to take care of and I needed to have my blood drawn to check my blood thinner medication. We swung by Walmart to replenish some groceries. We have one toilet that doesn't want to quit running so we need to get that resolved. After dinner grandson washed the towels that we used to sop up the water off the floor over the weekend.

Tomorrow I will catch up on getting the kitchen back in order. Daughter starts her job tomorrow, so I will not be out and about for a change. Maybe I can get settled back into a routine.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

We went to the Columbus Metropolitan Art Museum today. It was lovely and very interesting. We had my daughter's son with us yesterday, overnight, and today then we delivered him back to his other grandparents so he could spend some time with them.

The grandson living here is building a cupboard for his "stuff" and it sounds interesting from this distance (I'm in another room).

Tomorrow the water heater should be replaced and we will have water again. Woo hoo!! It will be so nice to flush the toilets in a normal fashion. Then I think washing dishes would be next then showers for one and all. We won't know how to act.

Friday, May 14, 2010

This has not been the best day of my life. We woke up this morning with a flood of water all over the place. It seems that our water heater sprung a leak. One more thing we did not need. We turned the water off and made arrangements to get it replaced. Replacement can't happen until Monday due to scheduling of the plummer. Another daughter of mine is paying to get the water heater replaced. She and her husband are life savers. The daughter here with me has a friend who loaned her a shopvac to suck up the water on the floor and carpet. Another friend of hers let her and my grandson go over to their place for showers. The utility room where the water heater resides is torn apart at the moment and the stuff that was in there is stashed wherever we could find room for it. Can't flush the toilet, wash dishes, or laundry and it may affect our cooking...since the water is turned off. I do have bottled water on hand and two gallons of water that we can "flush" the toilet with. I called my wonderful neighbors next door to ask if we could come over for water if we needed it. They said "no problem".

Due to this "stress" I have had a headache most of the day. I, also, heard from an old friend which helped perk up my spirits a little.

Well tomorrow will get better. Tomorrow will get better. Tomorrow will get better.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Been a busy day for the people here. I mall walked with my brother, grandson and daughter had some business to take care of, then daughter had to drive to the PA border to pick up her son from his dad for the weekend. Today was her birthday...boy am I getting old! It's hard to believe that my baby girl is a full grown adult. I really am old :( but there's not much I can do about it.

I don't have anything planned for tomorrow except yard work if the weather is okay. Don't know what the rest have planned for their day. I hope to get something posted on Helium as well.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Daughter and grandson spent the morning getting his address and ID up-to-date. Daughter then had things to do from noon-time until early evening so we had a late dinner. I made meatloaf, creamed potatoes, and corn on the cob. Tomorrow is daughter's birthday so I made her a chocolate cake with chocolate icing from scratch. We put her soon to be age on the cake in gum drops. She will be on the go all day tomorrow so we will have a piece of the cake tonight. She's off to pick up her son in PA. for the weekend.

Wrote on my novel for awhile and it felt good to do so. Tomorrow morning I will be walking the mall with my brother. I'm not sure if my resident grandson will be going with us. He's more than welcome to join us.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Grandson is here finally and settling in. He made nachos for our dinner tonight. They were very, very, good.

I answered some questions on WebAnswers while I was doing laundry. I got the laundry done but several days later than I usually do it.

The day seems to have slipped quickly by and I don't feel like I got much done. Does that make sense? (It did to me...lol.)

Monday, May 10, 2010

I have a tension headache and hopefully it will leave soon.

Daughter and I went to three stores grocery shopping for the month. It took us three hours. Then we had to unload it and put it away. (A woman's work is never done....lol.) Since my grandson will be moving in with us tomorrow we really needed the food. After the grocery trip daughter loaded some items in the car to drop off at her storage area so we will have room for said grandson. It will soon be cosy here.

We had a good dinner since we didn't have any lunch due to our running around. Our dinner consisted of braised pork chops, fresh corn on the cob, and sauted asparagus. Very, very, yummy. I cooked the chops and prepared the corn while the daughter preped and cooked the asparagus. Afterward she washed the dishes and I dried them plus put them away. We are now sitting and resting.

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Mother's Day...I heard from all of my daughters. Plus I heard from grandchildren and nephews. That made me feel very, very, good.

Yesterday was a busy day and filled with fun. I went to the Central Ohio Folk Festival and had a blast. I saw some amazing entertainment there. I will list them in order of how I liked them (not in the order I saw them): Bill Cohen, Randall Williams (daughter's fave), Smoking Fez Monkeys, The Yellow Room Gang, The Answer Ladies (all dulcimer group), the Hard Tackers, and James Keelighan.

I attended a Drum Circle (I had no idea what it was, but I thought it was listening to ethnic drums). It was a group participation to learn to play drums or anything, such as sticks, washboards, etc. I had so much fun with them. It was actually a workshop and when I attend another festival like this I will attend the Drum Circle if they have one and be a little more involved.

We packed some food for our lunch and dinner and we ate it in the car. The weather was not ideal. It was 56 degrees, wind of 65 miles per hour, and we were basically outside. Tents do not keep you warm with winds like those. I wore daughter's sleeping bag most of the time. Needless to say both of us were chilled to the bone by the time we got home at midnight. We grabbed something hot to drink and something to nibble on before we went to bed. We tossed my warm, but unplugged, electric blanket on top of all the blankets already on the bed and made outselves toasty. I slept like a log.

Daughter had to go back to the festive to help take down the tents and participate in a couple of workshops. I declined, since I'm not supposed to be out too long in raw, windy, chill weather. I felt okay but I didn't want to push the envelope. I was still chilled so I crawled back into bed at 1:00 p.m. and slept until 6:30 p.m.

Mother's Day was quiet and I was snug and warm in my bed.

Friday, May 7, 2010

Mall walked as planned. Daughter helped set up for Central Ohio Folk Fest, to which we will be going tomorrow. She will be working as needed. I'll get to attend my first folk fest.

I took advantage of nap time today and took a two hour one. I've spent most of my "awake" time going through email and seeing whatelse is going on in my world.

Daughter will soon be home and we need to talk about tomorrow's plans. So I will get off of here for today.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

It's been a complex day today. First off I was up later than usual last night because my daughter needed to bake a cake or two for the gathering after the burial of her friend's mother. We got up early so we could attend the service at the gravesite. Next we went to a friend's house to visit and to eat something. Then several hours later after a nice visit with everyone we came home. My neighbor, Kevin, said he was making burgers on the grill and offered us ones. We took him up on the offer. We traded him two burgers with buns and trimmings for several brownies.

My daughter's son was at the funeral with his father and spent time with us as well. Next week my other grandson (#3) will be moving in with us and daughter's son will be in town that week also.

Now I'm catching up on email and things of that nature but it is hard for me to keep my eyes open. I can't wait to get to bed since I need to be up to go mall walking with my brother in the morning.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Daughter made a peanut fudge pudding cake in her crockpot this morning. We sampled it (yeah, right) and it was mighty tasty. We played two quick games of Mahjong while it was cooking. We hadn't played Mahjong for about a week.

One of my daughter's friends mother passed away and the viewing was tonight. Due to scheduling issues I couldn't make it to the viewing, but we are both going to the burial tomorrow morning. Since daughter and friend are very close they have been spending a lot of time with each for emotional support. I had to reschedule my Thursday morning mall walk with my brother to Friday.

I submitted a query letter to a publishing house to see if they would be interested in my manuscript. It will take 21 days before I'll hear something. However, I got an automated "I am out of the office today" message shortly after I sent my query so I imagine it will be longer than 21 days before I hear anything. Oh well, that's the way it works usually.

Tonight is trash night so I got that all gathered up. Did dishes and other daily household chores. We are in a thunderstorm warning late tonight with large gusts of wind and they just now said "and hail" are headed this way. Woopee!!

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Just a quick note - I found a tick walking on me this evening and now I feel a itchy and crawlly. Ugh.

Monday, May 3, 2010

Worked on making room in the bedroom closet so my daughter and I could put her clothes and free up room for my grandson to hang the few items that he puts on hangers. In the process I managed to knock a framed photo off the top of my bookcase and banged my head and neck. I must have turned funny because I have been in pain where it bounced off my neck. My left shoulder and left side of my neck hurt.

Daughter checked my neck and back to make sure I hadn't scraped a spot that could bleed, because of the coumadin that I take. All was well in that respect but she did have me lay down with an ice pack on my upper neck and spine. I took an Advil and laid down later for a nap. That helped quite a bit.

That's about it for today.

I am remiss on postings the pass couple of days. Mea culpa, mea culpa. I actually goofed off yesterday. It was a gloomly, windy, rainy day and I got one of those inner chills that I get on occasion so I crawled back into bed at 12:30 p.m. I slept until 4:00 p.m. The wind had calmed down and the rain had stopped so I walked over and paid my rent.

Daughter was at a boating regulation class most of the day, but she had put a roast, potatoes, onions, carrots, and celery into the crock pot and let it cook while she was gone. It was a delicious meal. Then we watched a dvd of the Firefly series, over popcorn, and soda pop.

I did manage to get some laundry done, but that was about it. A very lazy day in most respects.

Today will be spent catching up on the things I didn't get finished yesterday. So, I'm finishing up the laundry, washing a day's worth of dishes, and I hope to get some writing done.

Daughter went to Springfield to get grandson 3's possessions that he wants stored for the summer. Next she had plans to go to a play with a friend. I'm not sure when I'll see her today so I'm pretty much on my own.

It's my birthday today and it has been a wonderful one. I talked to all of my daughters today. The daughter who is here baked me a carrot cake from scratch, but she didn't put icing on it, instead she sliced up a couple of strawberrys and wrote "Happy Birthday Mom" on the cake.

Mall walked with my brother this morning and talked to the girls and a grandson in the afternoon. I managed to squeeze in a little time on my novel. Now I'm catching up with facebook, gmail, and this blog.

Got quite a bit of stuff done today. Worked in the yard, did dishes, looked for a new market for one of my novels, found one but need to put it in their format. This can be a pain in the "you know what". I have started this process. Need to work on dinner tonight, do dishes (again), sweep the kitchen floor, and get the trash together and out to the curb.

Need to start the dinner portion now, so I will sign off for now.

I had a kitchen faux pas today. I blew up three eggs that I was hard boiling. I had forgotten that they were on the stove until I heard a "pop". I was wondering what could have caused the "pop" when I remembered the eggs. One was completely blown open and the other two were cracked and had burn spots on them. Once they're cool I'm going to toss them out...I don't believe that they are salvageable. Now the house smells of rotton eggs and I need to try to successfully try hard boiled eggs again.

I was busy answering questions on webanswers and totally forgot the eggs. I guess I don't multi-task well. I did need the one of the eggs for dinner tonight, but my dinner plan changed and what I was going to make changed as well. However, I still need to get a hard boiled egg together for tomorrow. This time I will stay in the kitchen until they are done.

It's a cold, dreary, rainy day here. I didn't get much accomplished. I did get a chocolate chip coffee cake made. Took a nap because I could and because it was so gloomy. Blah!

Yesterday got a late start and daughter wanted to go grocery shopping. We hit Meijer, Big Lots (for tp, paper towels, and detergent), and Krogers. We stayed within our budget. By the time we got home I was exhausted. Daughter joined up with some friends and I fell asleep in front of the television.

Today I'm little Susie homemaker. Did dishes from yesterday, washed two loads of laundry, made breakfast, had lunch, and made potato salad. Planning on having bratwurst, potato salad, and a fresh spinach salad for dinner tonight. Daughter is the one snoozing in the living room.

I'm here catching up on the news and friends.

Good morning. Not much going on except me playing games on the computer, although I just finished putting a poem on Helium. I will be signing off here so I can work on my novel, but I wanted to say "hey".

Last night my daughter and I set out to play "special" hands in mahjong. At first it was a challenge but we warmed up to it the second time around. There are probably ancient Chinese mahjong players rolling in their graves (or ash boxes).

I'm dragging my wagon right now. It's all I can do to keep my eyes open. I had a culinary experience tonight that was odd. I thought I had put out a piece of steak for stir fry, but when it thawed it wasn't steak but hamburger. So we had hamburger stir fry and it wasn't all that bad.

I worked a little more on my novel and played a few games online. I knitted a little (while I watched Jeopardy) and then did dishes. I'm pretty much ready for bed but we'll probably play a game of mahjong before that happens. We been trying to play a game every night so we can learn it.

I'm signing off now. Goodnight Mrs. Kalabash wherever you are. Goodnight John Boy, goodnight Mary Ellen....Okay I'm done.
Did my mall walk with my brother. We decided to dig out the dominoes and start playing them again. We used to go to the mall and play dominoes with our father when he was with us, so it will be nice to play again even though it's just the two of us. I've been working on one of my novels when I get a chance this week. I do feel like I'm making progress on this one.

Time sure flies when you're having fun and are busy. Yesterday daughter and I walked Beech Trail at Blacklick Woods Metro Park. She tells me she fed and watered me now it was time for my walk (ha, ha). I had my monthly phone call with my insurance nurse. We discussed Heart Failure (tell me about it, been there and am still there). We aren't discussing anything special next month as we did this month.

Today daughter went to a job interview, followed up with a meet and greet lunch with a gentleman. I on the other hand made was home making copies of special hands in Mahjongg. She hasn't gotten home yet so I don't know how the job interview went.
