It's my birthday today and it has been a wonderful one. I talked to all of my daughters today. The daughter who is here baked me a carrot cake from scratch, but she didn't put icing on it, instead she sliced up a couple of strawberrys and wrote "Happy Birthday Mom" on the cake.

Mall walked with my brother this morning and talked to the girls and a grandson in the afternoon. I managed to squeeze in a little time on my novel. Now I'm catching up with facebook, gmail, and this blog.

Got quite a bit of stuff done today. Worked in the yard, did dishes, looked for a new market for one of my novels, found one but need to put it in their format. This can be a pain in the "you know what". I have started this process. Need to work on dinner tonight, do dishes (again), sweep the kitchen floor, and get the trash together and out to the curb.

Need to start the dinner portion now, so I will sign off for now.

I had a kitchen faux pas today. I blew up three eggs that I was hard boiling. I had forgotten that they were on the stove until I heard a "pop". I was wondering what could have caused the "pop" when I remembered the eggs. One was completely blown open and the other two were cracked and had burn spots on them. Once they're cool I'm going to toss them out...I don't believe that they are salvageable. Now the house smells of rotton eggs and I need to try to successfully try hard boiled eggs again.

I was busy answering questions on webanswers and totally forgot the eggs. I guess I don't multi-task well. I did need the one of the eggs for dinner tonight, but my dinner plan changed and what I was going to make changed as well. However, I still need to get a hard boiled egg together for tomorrow. This time I will stay in the kitchen until they are done.

It's a cold, dreary, rainy day here. I didn't get much accomplished. I did get a chocolate chip coffee cake made. Took a nap because I could and because it was so gloomy. Blah!

Yesterday got a late start and daughter wanted to go grocery shopping. We hit Meijer, Big Lots (for tp, paper towels, and detergent), and Krogers. We stayed within our budget. By the time we got home I was exhausted. Daughter joined up with some friends and I fell asleep in front of the television.

Today I'm little Susie homemaker. Did dishes from yesterday, washed two loads of laundry, made breakfast, had lunch, and made potato salad. Planning on having bratwurst, potato salad, and a fresh spinach salad for dinner tonight. Daughter is the one snoozing in the living room.

I'm here catching up on the news and friends.

Good morning. Not much going on except me playing games on the computer, although I just finished putting a poem on Helium. I will be signing off here so I can work on my novel, but I wanted to say "hey".

Last night my daughter and I set out to play "special" hands in mahjong. At first it was a challenge but we warmed up to it the second time around. There are probably ancient Chinese mahjong players rolling in their graves (or ash boxes).

I'm dragging my wagon right now. It's all I can do to keep my eyes open. I had a culinary experience tonight that was odd. I thought I had put out a piece of steak for stir fry, but when it thawed it wasn't steak but hamburger. So we had hamburger stir fry and it wasn't all that bad.

I worked a little more on my novel and played a few games online. I knitted a little (while I watched Jeopardy) and then did dishes. I'm pretty much ready for bed but we'll probably play a game of mahjong before that happens. We been trying to play a game every night so we can learn it.

I'm signing off now. Goodnight Mrs. Kalabash wherever you are. Goodnight John Boy, goodnight Mary Ellen....Okay I'm done.
Did my mall walk with my brother. We decided to dig out the dominoes and start playing them again. We used to go to the mall and play dominoes with our father when he was with us, so it will be nice to play again even though it's just the two of us. I've been working on one of my novels when I get a chance this week. I do feel like I'm making progress on this one.

Time sure flies when you're having fun and are busy. Yesterday daughter and I walked Beech Trail at Blacklick Woods Metro Park. She tells me she fed and watered me now it was time for my walk (ha, ha). I had my monthly phone call with my insurance nurse. We discussed Heart Failure (tell me about it, been there and am still there). We aren't discussing anything special next month as we did this month.

Today daughter went to a job interview, followed up with a meet and greet lunch with a gentleman. I on the other hand made was home making copies of special hands in Mahjongg. She hasn't gotten home yet so I don't know how the job interview went.

Good afternoon. Feeling much better than I did yesterday, but not quite back to par. Did a little housework and made a couple of phone calls. I plan on making Amish pork chops for dinner tonight with yam hash and broccoli cuts to round it out. Yum, yum. We decided to "stay in" today so that I can get back up to speed as it is still cold and windy outside. Tomorrow my daughter has to take her kayak to get inspected and registered in the state of Ohio. I have a teleconference call with my health nurse tomorrow. We're going to discuss heart failure and it's signs. I read the booklet that she sent me and I'm pretty much doing what it recommends, which is counting calories, exercise, weight, BP, other vitals and writing them down. I've done that religiously for the pass four years. I'll be interested in what additional things she'll have to say.

I feel like I've been ran through the wringer. I ache from head to toe, my chronic laryngitis feels like it wants to kick up, and my lungs feel tight. I think it's from being out in the cold and wind yesterday (the type of weather that I'm not supposed to be in). I'm going back to bed after I take a sudafed (which is what the doctor says to do when I take a sudafed). I think I'll also take some cough syrup to see if that makes my lungs and throat feel any better. Off to bed now. I might be on later.
Just checking in one more time before heading to bed. We gathered up grandson 5 and headed off to Springfield. Visited with grandson 3 then we took him to Walmart to get things that he needed. We picked up a few groceries for ourselves as well. Grandson 3 treated us to dinner at Bob Evans. We had a great time. He had to work at 9:00 so he gave us a tour of the game room he works in, it's called Doppleganger's. We headed back to Columbus and arrived back here around 11:15. Now it's time for bed and I am bushed, so goodnight for now..

We will soon be picking up grandson number 5 (the one I had been calling the youngest) and going to visit grandson number 3 in Springfield. We are all looking forward to this visit. Don't know how long we will be there but it might be late when we get home.
A little clarification is needed from my last post. The grandson we picked up use to be my youngest grandson, but I now have one that is younger my apologies to both boys.

Friday, April 16, 2010

My youngest grandson will be in town for a family birthday this weekend. This grandson, his mother and I will be going to Springfield, OH to visit my middle grandson. It should be a nice time. Then late Sunday or early Monday the youngest grandson will be returning to his father where he is living until his mother and I get settled in a somewhat bigger place. When that happens both of these grandsons and my youngest daughter and I will be living together. At least that's the plan.
Went mall walking with my brother today. Think I got all of my email addresses changed over to my new one. Haven't done much with my writing this week. Did a little yesterday but that was about it. Sorry for the briefness of this post but I plan on getting back into the goove of things.

To all my friends who check my blog I'm sorry that the old blog is gone since I've moved to Gmail. What you see now is my "new" blog. It's still WriterMunn.

I switched to Gmail because not all of my daughters are receiving my emails due to them having Gmail and I didn't. They couldn't read them.

My youngest daughter has moved back home with me on a temporary basis (sort of). The move and plan has several pieces to it. This was just the first. She moved from Mass. to change jobs and to help me out. Next we plan to rent a place that can accommodate four people. Daughter, her son, my grandson, and me. Basically to cut the cost of living in three different homes. This will be interesting.

We have been getting more exercise in our lives. We've walked in a two state parks. Plus we are trying to eat healthier.
